Wolverhampton Wanderers hosts the champion Manchester City at the Molineux
One day after Boxing Day, Wolverhampton Wanderers hosts the champion Manchester City at the Molineux in a match from the 19th round of the Premier League. As usual, here are our free English Premier League predictions for this clash.
For a second consecutive season, Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the best teams in the league. Nuno Santo’s team is now 6th in the Premier League with 27 points, but just one point behind the 5th Sheffield United. We can say that Wolves had a pretty slow start of the campaign, but with time they put their foot on the gas pedal and started winning points on a regular basis.
In the last round Wolves enjoyed their 6th win for the campaign. They visited the struggling Norwich City at the Carrow Road and went home with all of the points after a 2-1 win. The hosts scored first, but in the second 45 minutes Wolves raised the tempo and scored twice. It was Romain Saiss and Raul Jimenez who won the game for the visitors.
Against Manchester City Wolves can’t use Willy Boly and Morgan Gibbs-White who are still recovering from their injuries.
Manchester City celebrated a good win in their last game, beating in-form Leicester City with 3-1 at the Etihad. The game didn’t start well for City and Jamie Vardy opened the score for the Foxes, but until the final whistle City turned it around. Riyad Mahrez equalised for the Cityzens, while Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus finished the job for Pep Guardiola’s team.
It’s difficult to think that Man City have chances to defend their title this season. Right now the champion are 11 points behind Liverpool and the Reds even have a game in hand. Most likely City will concentrate on other competitions until the end of the season.
That’s our English Premier League predictions for the game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City at the Etihad. We think that’s an awfully difficult game to predict, so be careful here.
