Denmark faces Australia in a game from Group C of the FIFA World Cup in Russia
Denmark started their participation at the World Cup with a win. The Danish Dynamite enjoyed a 1-0 win over Peru, thanks to a goal from Yussuf Poulsen in the last minutes of the game. It was the best possible start for the Scandinavian team, which is highly motivated to pass the group stage and reach the 1/8-finals. If Denmark records a second consecutive win in the group, this would happen and they will have what to celebrate after the game.
Against Peru Denmark’s manager Age Hareide used a classic 4-2-3-1 formation, with the star player Cristian Eriksen played behind the back of the striker Nicolai Jorgensen. Yussuf Poulsen and Pione Sisto took the two flangs, while William Kvist and Thomas Delaney acted as holding midfielders.
Australia on the other hand showed some good spirit and desire, but lost against the favourite in the group France. The Socceroos did their best to trouble Les Bleus, but in the end they suffered a 1-2 defeat. It was Aziz Behich from Australia’s team, who scored himself an own goal just ten minutes before the end. Before this Antoane Griezmann opened the score for France, before Mile Jedinak leveled the score after a successfully executed penalty kick.
Despite of the loss, the Australians do not have anything to be ashamed of. They did well against one of the strongest teams at the World Cup and they were pretty close to winning a point. To be fair, most of the people expected to see France winning this clash easily. But this didn’t happen, because of Australia’s solid efforts to shut down Les Bleus’ stars.
In Australia they know that they have to beat Denmark, if they want to keep their hopes of reaching the 1/8-finals alive. Especially after Denmark’s win against Peru in the first round. For sure the Socceroos will be confident against their good performance against France. What they did against Didier Deschamps’ boys shall be a solid motivation for them to go strong against the other European team in the group.
For Denmark it’s a clear goal in front of them. After winning against Peru, the Scandinavians know that a win against Australia will mean playing at the 1/8-finals. And for them it would be good to secure their qualification, before facing the favourite for the first place France. Against Les Blues it’s going to be very hard, that’s for sure.
Denmark’s best performance at the World Cup came in 1998, when they reached the 1/4-finals in France. In 2002 Denmark reached the 1/8-finals and this was the last time when they qualified for the knockout phase. For sure this time the Danish team would like to do something similar in Russia. Led by the incredible Cristian Eriksen, they have a solid team who can beat anyone. Maybe against France we will have the opportunity to see the true strength of the Danish squad.
These are our vip football bets for the World Cup game from Group C between Denmark and Australia. On theory Denmark are a favourite in this clash, but remember how difficult it was for France to win against the Socceroos. It’d be a great mistake from anyone in the Danish squad, who thinks that this is going to be an easy game for them.
