Barnsley hosts Fulham in a match from the first round of the English Championship. Give us few minutes to examine this clash at the Oakwell Stadium in Barnsley in our free football betting tips for the weekend.

Barnsley are among the newcomers in the Championship this season. They won a promotion from the League One and now they will try to leave their mark in the Championship as well. How far can they go this season? Well, only time will tell. They did very well in the League One, but now the level is very different.

Still managed by the German head coach Daniel Stendel, Barnsley made some deals on the transfer market. The club signed the right winger Luke Thomas from Derby County, while the Danish centre back Mads Juel Andersen was bought from Horsens. Meanwhile two players were signed from the German Hannover 96 – the attacking midfielder Mike Bahre and the goalkeeper Samuel Sahin-Radlinger.

Meanwhile for Fulham it’s once again a new beginning. Last season the Cottagers were playing in the Premier League, but they got relegated back to the Championship. Now they will try to win the promotion again.

The former England international Scott Parker remains the manager of the club. On the marker Fulham didn’t spend any money for new signings, but signed Wolves’ Ivan Cavaleiro and Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert on loan. Meanwhile the club was left by Jean Michael Seri, Ryan Babel and Lazar Markovic, plus the players who were loaned to Fulham last season – Luciano Vietto, Andre Schurrle, Sergio Rico and Havard Nordtveit.

These are our free football betting tips for the Championship clash from the opening round between Barnsley and Fulham. It’s just the beginning of the season, so it’s pretty hard to pick a favourite between these two teams. Last season Fulham was a Premier League club, but it doesn’t mean much really.
